Malaysia Autograph Sessions+Mini Concerts
Date: Dec 27-29. 2002
Places: Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Petaling Jaya

Our first stop was Penang. The concert was held at the seaside open space beside the E & O Hotel carpark. We waited very long for the concert to start because the organiser had organised a long mtv (not Wakin's) sequence of other artistes, a dance and a quiz to give out their souvenirs. The concert at Penang was the best in terms of Wakin's singing. He kept forgetting his lyrics but he was really very high. His singing was very powerful and he can reach the high notes effortlessly. It's hard to believe he was sick at that time. The standard was as good as Xiamen's concert and everyone encored.

When the concert was over, we queued up for the signing. When Wakin saw us, he was very happy and shook our hands very long and hard.

The next stop was Ipoh. It was raining the whole night but the people stayed on and were in very high spirits. heehee. The concert was very short due to the rain and because Wakin just recovered. However, he insisted on standing out in the rain, not under the cover of the stage when he saw everyone staying behind to listen despite the rain getting heavier. The concert was ok but not as good as the previous night. The signing was also very short but he was very happy to see us again. He said "xin1 ku3 le4!" which made all our efforts worth it. When he finished signing and was waving goodbye, everyone was hiding from the rain far from the stage. Only the two of us stood right in front of the stage and waved back to him, so he waved very hard, gave the thumbs up sign, and blew flying kisses...he was so energetic! We found our hard work even more rewarded now.

The next place was Seremban, 4-hours' drive from Ipoh. Wakin was an hour late due to the traffic jam, arriving at 3pm. But everyone still waited anxiously for him and he kept calling during his journey to say he's sorry and will be there soon. Then Wakin came, sang one song and started the autographing session immediately. He sang another song before he left hastily for the evening's concert cum autographing session at Petaling Jaya.

The final stop of the Malaysia Breakaway Tour was held at the open space at Phileo Damansara . The concert was very successful. Wakin started off by throwing posters to people, then singing heartily and joking away every now and then. He was very engrossed and gave a wonderful concert. There were great fireworks at the end and it was very beautiful. We hung around and waited to be the last few to let him sign. He thanked us again and said "xin1 ku3 ni3 men2 le4".
