總統親點周華健慈善義唱

我國納丹總統親自點名，邀請台灣歌手周華健參與“康福20周年星光燦爛演唱會”。
周華健“光宗耀祖”了
周華健在台灣接受本報的長途電話訪問時說：“這次由總統親自點名請我參與演出，真的是‘光宗耀祖’了。哈哈。”
“康福20周年星光燦爛演唱會”將在12月27日舉行，參與演出的歌手除了周華健，還有齊豫、蘇永康、草猛、許志安、范文芳、瑪利亞及鄭斌輝。
沉寂了一年沒出唱片的周華健并沒閑著，除了籌備新專輯，也在“偷偷地”嘗試成為多面手，在自己的網頁上寫小說和散文，甚至籌備自己的網站wakin.com（wakin是華健英語名字），另外，他還不小心透露，已經寫完電影劇本，准備當導演，男主角則看上他唱片合作人李宗盛。
和李宗盛合作新專輯
周華健和李宗盛在今年六七月間便開始合作制作新專輯，無奈李宗盛是天生的慢手，原本計划在8月推出的專輯一再推遲。周華健笑說：“我不是第一個‘受害者’。哈哈。”
也因為李宗盛的慢工，正好讓這几年馬不停蹄的周華健有機會真正地休息。
曾患上嚴重失眠症
周華健說，過去几年腦筋一直處在極度活躍的狀態，勞心耗神，患上非常嚴重的失眠症。“我可以一晚醒來好几次，記下一些旋律，這樣的日子過了好几年。”
周華健正在積極籌備下一張專輯。
周華健說，在“等”李宗盛的期間，他慢慢地把生活調整過來。“我現在還去凍泳，每天上班前都會在攝氏11度的泳池里游泳。”
對于在網頁“真的周華健”上撰寫小說及散文。周華健有自己的看法：“我覺得通過歌詞寫‘我愛你、你愛我’，已不足以表達自己的想法，所以開始寫些長篇文章如小說和散文等。”
創作小說“還無法歸類”
談到他的小說，周華健習慣地大笑說：“到現在還無法歸類。這篇連載小說原本是科幻故事，但到最后筆鋒一轉……你們上網看了幫我定位吧。哈哈哈。”
兼職也當影評人
除了涉足小說、散文外，周華健還幫報章寫起影評來。“台灣已有非常資深和出色的影評人，我則嘗試從影迷、觀眾甚至歌手的較新角度去寫影評。”周華健第一篇寫的影評，就是不久前的賣座影片《戰斗勇將》（The Gladiator）。
“密謀”當導演
越說越興奮，周華健還“不小心”泄漏未來計划：“我接下來正‘密謀’當導演。已經弄出一個劇本
大綱，也和香港方面初步談了。不過，這部電影暫時也還無法歸類，只能說絕對是從日常生活取材的。”
要找李宗盛當男主角
周華健笑說，男主角想找李宗盛來演一個“戇居居”（傻戇）的中年男人，他自己當然參與其中。
自認是個停不下來的人，周華健如今將觸角伸向各類創作，似乎在醞釀另一個顛峰期。問周華健是這樣嗎？他笑說：“也沒刻意那么做，只希望生命能充實而無悔。”

Happy to Happy cruise along

SO what has Emil Chau, 40, been up to these days?
Cruising along on a lower gear and leading a less public life.
Sounding relaxed in a phone interview from
Taiwan, the singer-songwriter said he has "regained his soul" as 
his
latest album, produced by Jonathan Li, is taking longer than expected.
"I didn't like my previous lifestyle of releasing albums non-stop. I had to rush to events, press conferences. I never had the chance to stop and rest."
To him, life in an urban city can be a pressure-cooker.
"I couldn't sleep at night because my brain was still active. For six to seven years, I would wake up three or four times and record a tune with a tape recorder."
Now, not only has his insomnia disappeared, he has finally got time with his two kids, Andrew, 10, and Anya, 5.
With his signature laugh, Emil said: "Now, I get to wake up at 1 or 2pm. I've more time to spend at home now. My children have grown up. Last time, I couldn't keep track of how big they had grown.
"The other day, my elder son and I actually discussed in detail a documentary he saw about the birth of a worm."
Emil also admitted that churning out ballads non-stop is no longer his cup of tea.
He's now putting his creative juices to writing short stories which are being featured on a fan's website. He also plans to go into making movies.
On Dec 27, Emil will join Andy Hui, William So, Chyi Yu, Grasshopper, Fann Wong and Tay Ping Hui in the Comfort Superstar Concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
